How fortunate are we to discover the future of automobiles in the form of new car launches, concept cars and the highly awaited electric cars under one roof at the Auto Expo 2018. For aspirational buyers like most of us, we can plan ahead of the commercial availability of the cars by the new financial year or wait until 2019.

An artist who goes by the name of ‘Cartist’ has molded his love for art and automobiles, exhibiting his installations at the event. Huge artistic dummy cars that almost look real have been sculpted by him and several local artists to create the exterior of automobiles. This one is a must visit. Many companies and automobile brands have shown interest to purchase the car sculpts.

Seek inspiration from the bright minds, young college goers who have created Formula 1 cars with limited resources, using technology and imagination. They passionately present the models, engineering background and benefits of their man made machine. Some students may subsequently be considered for jobs in big automobile companies.

Your typical auto ride may change forever as Lohia Company has invented a futuristic Comfort E- Auto HS, a fully electric machine that runs on lithium-ion battery, priced at INR 149,000. It comes with an inbuilt GPS and top speed of 30 km/h and a range of 80 km. Around 350 kg weight capacity.

The highlight of the year’s Auto Expo is Korean Company’s debut KIA Compact Concept SUV which is set to hit the market by middle of 2019. H W Park, the Global CEO of KIA added, “We are here to build more than just great cars. The idea is to give it back to the Indian community as well”

Interestingly, Hyundai Motors have launched a Swachh Can, a portable thrash bin that fits into the cup-holders of all its models from March 2018. It is a powerful idea that aligns with the current Government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The company claimed it came up with his launch, after surveying 95% people who agreed to carry portable dustbins in their car. The company even face lifted its i20 premium hatchback series, by upgrading cosmetics and adding features.

Maruti Suzuki launched its new ConceptFutureS concept car that is bold and inventive in design and exterior. A first in house design for Maruti Suzuki, Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO, said, "Compact is the natural choice of India's car customers. Compact needs a fresh design language, one that is bold, confident and dynamic. Our designers have created this brand new design, aggressive on the outside, and bold and inviting interiors. Nothing like this has ever been attempted before on a vehicle this size. ConceptFutureS will define the next generation of design for compact vehicles in India". The car mimics an SUV.
